I am an SSI recipient. So I needed a home that I could actually afford which seemed difficult at first.But eventually I found a house that was in my price range. It did not need too much remodeling either. This house was in a whole new other state too than the one I was living in. The affordable home I finally found was actually located in Central America but I live on the Eastern side of Virginia. That would mean a 2-day ride on a greyhound or 8+ plus hours on a plane.So I am very happy that I was able to purchase a home still via my SSI income.The realtor Lisa Schartz of Pickett Fence Realty and her assistant Tracy Barton made all of this happen. I would also like to add the patience and understanding that they showed me. I of course had a lack of knowledge in the home buying process because it was my very first time. So the patience that was shown towards me means a lot.I am also grateful to First Residential for creating a monthly mortgage that I could afford in order to buy the house especially on the amount of SSI that I receive.
